Assorted quotes (which seem to be what people take for absolute truths these days):
Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants.
If you would know the value of money, go and try to borrow some.
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you.”
“Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”
and my favourite:
“Money, if it does not bring you happiness, will at least help you be miserable in comfort.”
and perhaps one that is rather relevant, at least i think it is:
tried to be in control of own life, unsuccessful. must maintain control of independence and do exactly what i want when i want within the confines of this relationship in order to feel independent and in control whilst completely controlled in unsuccessful area.
fine, whatever.
thats my point. you reach your limit of caring too quickly. Dont want to care about me too much and accidentally become super attached. Must maintain free-spirit demeanour and be an independant person.
when it is impossible to find a desired outcome in one area of life, one seeks the same outcome in other areas.
